"Habiter le Campement" exhibition in Paris 13 Apr - 29 Aug 2016

Photos included in French national architectural museum exhibition at the Palais de Chaillot
15/05/2016
I was delighted to be invited to add a selection of photos to an exhibition in one of Paris's national museums: the Palais de Chaillot (Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine), with its focus on architecture. The exhibition "Habiter Le Campement" concentrated on various forms of temporary living / accommodation, from refugee camps and shelters, festival goers and backpackers to nomadic lifestyles. My photos came from my first visit to the Dassanech nomadic group in southern Ethiopia in 2008/9. A selection of photos from the show are here: https://www.flickr.com/…/carsten_tb/albums/72157668395940965

The exhibition runs until 29 Aug 2016 and is worth a visit if you are in Paris. Next to the nomadic tribes featured (many of whom I have visited but with thankfully several that I haven't) I was particularly interested in some of the temporary work environments, such as gold panners (whom I have visited in Senegal and Burkina Faso). The Palais de Chaillot is on the Trocadero side of the Seine facing the Eiffel Tower. Link text here...
