The Before Project
In the last two decades Carsten ten Brink has travelled extensively and several of the countries he visited have since undergone major political upheavals - such as an uprising, civil war, or "Arab Spring" - or catastrophic natural disasters.
His "Before Project" aims for a series of photographic books documenting life in the country or region before it underwent the upheaval or disaster.
Two photobooks have so far been published (Volume I: Mali and Volume II: Libya) and further volumes are planned
